CSAA Taps Monitronics’ Ivy for National Security-Monitoring Employee Award

Recognition Follows on Heels of Monitronics’ Selection as Frost & Sullivan Provider of the Year

DALLAS (July, 2008) – Top U.S. security company Monitronics this week announced that one of its longtime emergency dispatch operators, Mary Ann Ivy, has been named Operator of the Year selected by the nation’s leading security industry trade group, the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA). The award, the industry’s top award for individual alarm-monitoring employees, comes in the wake of consumer research analyst Frost & Sullivan’s selection of Monitronics as its 2008 security Provider of the Year.

CSAA announced its selection of Ms. Ivy at SDM Magazine’s third annual gala in Nashville, TN, in a June celebration designed to honor the security industry’s leading executives and employees.  Ms. Ivy, a senior dispatch operator with more than seven years of experience with Monitronics, was tapped by CSAA for her expertise, dedication to security customers, attitude and perfect attendance and on-time performance records.

“We’re extremely proud of Mary Ann,” said Mary Jensby, director of Monitronics’ central-station operation. “Those of us who work with her every day know how terrific she is, handling our VIP accounts, training many of our new employees, and doing anything else that’s asked of her with a smile. She’s always upbeat and eager to learn new things – so it’s fantastic that the industry has decided to recognize her for being such a leader and team player.”

Monitronics officials also point to Ms. Ivy’s efficiency within Central Station as one of the key factors in her win. “Not long ago, one of our customers pressed his panic button – and Mary Ann responded within two seconds,” reports Ms. Jensby. “A man at the scene indicated that his father-in-law was dizzy and needed medical help. Mary Ann immediately dispatched the paramedics, who arrived within minutes and transported the gentleman to the hospital, where he was successfully treated. Our customer thanked us profusely – particularly singling out Mary Ann. What can I say? Her quick response and excellent service are the heart and soul of what makes Monitronics and our central station the best in the country.”
