Wireless Home Security Systems

More than 80% of the home-security systems currently monitored by Monitronics are wireless systems. The benefits of installing a wireless system are twofold: lower equipment costs and ease of installation.

If you’re building a new home and want a hardwired system, you may want to consider having your home pre-wired for a security system that is customized to meet the needs of your lifestyle.

If your existing home isn’t pre-wired for a system and you don't want to go to the additional expense and work of hardwiring, a wireless home security system may be right for you. Contact us today to arrange a consultation with one of our expert security consultants.

Wireless Home Security Systems

Technological developments in the home security industry have provided homeowners with several viable wireless home security options. These popular systems have proven stability and a long battery life, providing you with a low-maintenance security solution. Wireless security systems overcome architectural obstacles and preserve the beauty of your home without sacrificing performance.

Today's wireless home security systems are user-friendly products that provide superb performance and simple operation. With a wireless keypad you are able to activate and de-activate your security system with the touch of a button. Most packages come equipped with the popular wireless remote key fobs. Similar to a remote car alarm key, a single button lets you arm and disarm your security system and can be programmed to control lights or appliances.

Cellular Monitoring (Back-up and Primary)

Traditionally the telephone line is used to connect your home alarm system and our monitoring center. However, vandalism, construction, weather and clever burglars can disrupt or compromise this communication. Monitronics offers a cellular back-up solution for your protection.

In cases where traditional phone lines are not available, including VoIP and other wireless security system communications are still made possible with cellular as a primary. No matter what your situation is, Monitronics offer security solutions that ensure critical alarm information reaches our central station.
All cellular systems are located within your home, providing further protection from outside tampering.

VOIP/Broadband Connections

Don’t confuse a wireless home security system with communication technology. Home security systems can be customized to work with most broadband technology – and, while the number of systems operating on either VoIP or cellular service is growing rapidly, most security systems still incorporate the use of traditional “land lines.”

Monitronics offers state-of-the-industry broadband solutions to your home security needs. Cellular connections to Monitronics' monitoring station are typically made using our cellular systems and components. These systems can be used as either primary or backup security.

If you’re considering using new VoIP technologies to do away with your traditional phone line, be aware that your home security alarm system could suffer some performance issues. The industry has yet to establish a uniform set of standards for VoIP technology – and, in some cases, services may not properly transmit signals from the home security system to the monitoring station. Your local Monitronics representative can help you determine the options that are right for you.
